The Water Way of Cison di Valmarino is a historical and naturalistic trail that follows the course of the Rujo stream. Since ancient times, the abundance of water in this valley has allowed for the development of activities linked to its motive power, giving life to the “Way of the Mills”.
The route, which starts from the heart of the village (often near Castelbrando), leads uphill, revealing the ruins and restored buildings of mills used in the past for processing cereals and, in particular, wool. Along the way, you will encounter characteristic stone hamlets, fountains, and wash-houses, which offer a glimpse into the rural life of the era.
The trail ends at the Piazzale and Bosco delle Penne Mozze, a natural memorial that invites reflection, surrounded by an ancient and evocative forest.
