The Loop on the Ancient Via Maestra Between Cison and Mura is a circular hiking trail, classified as easy (E), which runs through the territories of Cison di Valmarino and its main village, Mura.
The route, approximately 7 km long with a positive elevation gain of approximately 300 meters, requires approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete and offers a significant immersion in the history and landscape of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
Starting from the center of Cison di Valmarino, the trail initially winds along the evocative Via Maestra, the ancient route that connected the valley, and then leads uphill to the village of Mura, situated in an elevated position. Along the way, several points of historical and architectural interest are encountered, such as the picturesque village of Cison with its historic streets and typical rural dwellings.
The route runs largely on secondary paved roads, unpaved roads, and forest trails, crossing groves, meadows, and terraced vineyards. From Mura, splendid panoramic views of the surrounding valley can be admired, including Castelbrando, before the loop closes by descending back toward Cison di Valmarino.
